Embed the Sender and Correct views
Embedded sending (also called the envelope Sender view of an envelope) enables your app’s users to edit the tabs, documents, recipients, and other settings of draft Docusign envelopes within your app before sending them out for approval. Just as with embedded signing, your app or website can generate a URL and host the sending experience using a redirect or webview (for mobile).
The Embedded Correct view is used to modify the envelope after it’s been sent.
See How to send an envelope via your app for details on each step and example code that demonstrates how to request a signature using embedded sending.
Information security with embedded Sending and Correct views
The embedded Sender, Correct, and Template Edit views only have write access to the specific envelope or template referenced in the API call. They do, however, have read access to templates and other secondary information that you can use to create or modify an envelope or template. The read access will correspond to the access rights of the user associated with the access token used for the API call.
Recommendations:
- Use the access token of a “service” user who can access the templates appropriate for your use case.
- Do not use the access token of a user with administrator privileges.
Limit the user experience
By default, the EnvelopeViews:createSender and EnvelopeViews:createCorrect API methods provide embedded views that enable the user to make any type of change to the envelope. But for many use cases, when that’s not ideal, the API methods enable you to limit different parts of the user experience (UX).
The UX options are the same for both API methods. You can:
- Set the view to first show the Prepare or Tagging page
- Limit the user to the tagging page by showing the Tagging page and hiding the Back Button.
- Not allow changes to the recipients
- Not allow changes to the documents
- Not showing the Discard action
- Remove the tagging palette or show a specific section as the default
Try the different UX options with the embedded views test tool.
