Welcome to a new year of DocuSign Developer news! Here at DocuSign, we're excited for all the continued innovations we're bringing to our products and their APIs, helping you incorporate new DocuSign features into your integrations. Also, we've got some great insights on cool ways to take advantage of what you can do with the APIs: read on!

Our first major announcement this month is that we've released eSignature REST API calls to enable you to use advanced recipient routing in your integrations! These features, which have been active in the web app since last year, are now controllable by the API, and let you pause and unpause a signature workflow and set conditional recipients so your workflows can adapt to business logic. Another new feature of the API is customizable embedded sending, which lets you add parameters to your embedded sending API calls to control the recipient's signing experience. Finally, we're launching a new way for you to send signing notifications to your users: SMS! This innovation lets you directly support mobile signing scenarios.

We've also got lots of cool insights and tips for using DocuSign APIs. First, Majid Mallis continues his series on how we release and manage our SDKs. Nima Poulad presents another cool use case for composite templates, Inbar Gazit shows you how to require the user to draw a signature in every signing location, and Matt King helps you control the recipient's UI language. Finally, don't miss our usual featured videos, the latest from our forums, product release notes, and this month's Developer Spotlight, Mike Borozdin. Enjoy!
