Contact [Docusign Support](https://support.docusign.com/s/?language=en_US) or your account manager to find out whether the Web Forms API is available for your production account plan. The [Web Forms](https://support.docusign.com/s/document-item?bundleId=gmi1660583110357\&topicId=brp1660583998599.html) feature enables you to build web pages that contain fields in which users enter data. User-entered form values can be dynamically incorporated into eSignature [envelopes](/docs/esign-rest-api/esign101/concepts/envelopes) that users sign, as well as exported to your business applications. With the [Web Forms builder](https://support.docusign.com/s/document-item?bundleId=gmi1660583110357\&topicId=gpc1660591510274.html), you can easily create a sequence of form pages, add form fields, set validation rules, and apply conditional logic. The Web Forms API enables you to create and manage the [web form instances](/docs/web-forms-api/web-forms-101/concepts#web-form-instances) that users fill out. You can also use the API to retrieve data about the [web form configurations](/docs/web-forms-api/web-forms-101/concepts#web-form-configurations) that are available in your Docusign account. A *web form configuration* is the set of properties that defines a web form. With the Web Forms API, you can: * Deliver web forms to your customers using your preferred method: send them a link via email, embed the form in your web application, or redirect users to the Docusign platform. * Prefill form fields with customer information from a system of record * Monitor the status of web form instances and corresponding envelopes generated after form submission * Track a user’s progress towards completing their web form instance * Retrieve user-submitted form data for export to external systems In addition to the Web Forms API, Docusign provides a JavaScript client SDK, [Docusign JS](/docs/web-forms-api/plan-integration/render-instances#use-docusign-js-to-render-web-form-instance-urls), that you can use to seamlessly embed a web form instance into your website. Note that the Docusign JS library cannot be used with [remote web form instances](/docs/web-forms-api/web-forms-101/when-to-use-embedded-or-remote-delivery). Remote instances are managed entirely through the Web Forms API. With the Web Forms API and Docusign JS library, you can: * Ensure that embedded web form instances are secure and unique to each user * Embed web form instances in a web application, including authenticated sessions * Customize some UI components of the web form * Set up event listeners that your application can use to trigger actions Here is an example of a web form instance displayed in a user's browser: ![Web form instance displayed in browser](/_fern-files/_img/c8dcaf0cc5fbbad794f31228fc31ec18cabef4735d51431424e2b3235f19c72f.webp) These topics describe key features of the Web Forms API: #### [Web Forms concepts](/docs/web-forms-api/web-forms-101/concepts) Understand the concepts behind Web Forms and the process of web form instance creation. #### [Authentication](/docs/web-forms-api/plan-integration/authentication) Learn how to authorize an application to make calls to the Web Forms API. #### [How-to guides](/docs/web-forms-api/how-to) Explore how-to guides demonstrating how to create and manage web form instances. #### [API reference](/docs/web-forms-api/reference) Get the details about Web Forms API endpoint requests and responses. #### [Go-Live](/docs/web-forms-api/go-live) Learn how to move a Web Forms API integration from the developer environment to production. > Learn what your application can do with the Web Forms API and see the available documentation. ## Docs - [Web Forms concepts](https://developers.docusign.com/docs/web-forms-api/web-forms-101/concepts.md): Understand the concepts behind Web Forms, including web form configurations and web form instances. - [When to use embedded or remote web form instance delivery](https://developers.docusign.com/docs/web-forms-api/web-forms-101/when-to-use-embedded-or-remote-delivery.md): Learn when to use remote web form instance delivery and when to embed web form instances in your app. - [Web form instance processing](https://developers.docusign.com/docs/web-forms-api/web-forms-101/instance-processing.md): Learn how an end user, your application, and the Docusign platform interact during the processing of a web form instance. - [API and UI functionality](https://developers.docusign.com/docs/web-forms-api/web-forms-101/api-ui-functionality.md): Learn which Web Forms features are available through the API and which are available in the Web Forms builder UI. - [Endpoint base path](https://developers.docusign.com/docs/web-forms-api/web-forms-101/endpoint-base-path.md): Learn how to construct the endpoint base path for Web Forms API calls.
