# How to brand the signing experience

> Learn how to brand the user’s signing experience with the Android SDK.

This topic demonstrates how to brand the user’s signing experience.

## Step 1. Log in to Docusign

To make the API call shown in this how-to, you must be logged in to Docusign.

See [How to log in to Docusign from your app](/docs/mobile-sdks/android-sdk/how-to/log-in) for details.

## Step 2. Configure appearance

Use the method shown to configure the appearance of the signing experience.

**`Java`**

```java title="Java"
DSAppearanceDelegate appearanceDelegate = DocuSign.getInstance().getAppearanceDelegate();
DSAppearance appearance = new DSAppearance.Builder()
    .setActionBarColor(new ColorDrawable(getResources().getColor(R.color.red)))
    .setStatusBarColor(new ColorDrawable(getResources().getColor(R.color.dark_gray)))
    .setActionBarLogo(ResourcesCompat.getDrawable(getResources(), R.drawable.ic_logo, null))
    .setActionBarTitleTextColor(new ColorDrawable(getResources().getColor(android.R.color.white)))
    .setBottomToolbarButtonColor(new ColorDrawable(getResources().getColor(R.color.yellow)))
    .setBottomToolbarButtonTextColor(new ColorDrawable(getResources().getColor(android.R.color.white)))
    .setBottomToolbarDocuSignImageVisibility(true)
    .build();
appearanceDelegate.setAppearance(appearance);
```

**`Kotlin`**

```kotlin title="Kotlin"
val appearanceDelegate = DocuSign.getInstance().getAppearanceDelegate()
val appearance: DSAppearance = DSAppearance.Builder()
    .setActionBarColor(ColorDrawable(resources.getColor(R.color.red)))
    .setStatusBarColor(ColorDrawable(resources.getColor(R.color.dark_gray)))
    .setActionBarLogo(ResourcesCompat.getDrawable(resources, R.drawable.ic_logo, null))
    .setActionBarTitleTextColor(ColorDrawable(resources.getColor(android.R.color.white)))
    .setBottomToolbarButtonColor(ColorDrawable(resources.getColor(R.color.yellow)))
    .setBottomToolbarButtonTextColor(ColorDrawable(resources.getColor(android.R.color.white)))
    .setBottomToolbarDocuSignImageVisibility(true)
    .build()
appearanceDelegate.appearance = appearance
```

## Step 3. Brand the signing experience

Next, use the configuration you created in the previous step to brand the signing experience.

**`Java`**

```java title="Java"
DSCustomSettingsDelegate customSettingsDelegate = DocuSign.getInstance().getCustomSettingsDelegate();
customSettingsDelegate.setLanguage(getApplicationContext(), DSLanguage.PORTUGESE);
```

**`Kotlin`**

```kotlin title="Kotlin"
val customSettingsDelegate = DocuSign.getInstance().getCustomSettingsDelegate()
customSettingsDelegate.setLanguage(applicationContext, DSLanguage.PORTUGESE)
```

## Expected response

After running the example, your custom branding will be applied to future signing sessions. The following screenshots show examples of unbranded (left) and branded (right) signing sessions.
