# Credential API Ping

Ping can be used to do a quick check to see if the Docusign Credential service is available.

**`C#`**

```csharp title="C#"
// Use this function to validate that the Credential API is alive
bool retval = _apiClient.Ping();
// Confirm that we got an appropriate reply
if (retval)
{
    Console.WriteLine("Ping succeeded.");
}
```

**`PHP`**

```php title="PHP"
$pingParams = new Ping();
$response = $am_api->Ping($pingParams);
```

## Sample Request XML:

```
SOAPAction: http://www.docusign.net/API/Credential/Ping
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<soap:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
   <soap: Body>
      <Ping xmlns="http://www.docusign.net/API/Credential" />
   </soap:Body>
</soap:Envelope>
```

## PingResult

Returns true if successful.
